Amir Khan will make his return to boxing, but not in a fighting capacity, as he will promote a boxing bout in Ghana.

Khan retired from the sport when he suffered a loss to Kell Brook in 2022. It was a bitter defeat to his British rival as he was stopped. Khan admitted that he was not the same fighter, as his legs were simply not there. To make matters worse, Khan ended up testing positive for Ostarine. He was subsequently given a two-year backdated ban, which ended in April 2024. He was connected with a comeback amid links with the likes of Jake Paul and KSI.

Those fights never materialized, as Khan is happy with his life outside of boxing. Now, he will enter the promotional scene with the relaunch of AK Promotions. The main event will be an eight-round cruiserweight fight featuring Andrew Tabiti and Jacob Dickson. Dickson fight on home soil, with a 14-1 record.

Meanwhile, Tabiti is looking for a title shot as he is 21-2-0. In chief support, Ohara Davies will box Mohammed Aliseni. Davies returns to the sport following his stoppage loss to Adam Azim the last time out. Meanwhile, Aliseni has won four out of his last five fights. Khan will not promote this event alone, as he will work alongside Legacy Promotions.

“This isn’t just a boxing event – it’s a statement. Ghana has a deep legacy in the sport, and we’re proud to honour that by bringing world-class talent to African soil. This is the first of many. Our mission is to build a platform where African fighters shine globally and fans get the unforgettable nights they deserve. The world is watching, and Ghana is ready,” Sharaf Mahama (CEO of Legacy Promotions)

“Ghana is a place I would’ve loved to fight – the energy, the history, the passion for boxing is unreal. As a former world champion, I know how important it is to open doors for the next generation. That’s why I’m back, not in the ring but behind the scenes , to help build something lasting. We’re here to leave a legacy and light the path forward for African boxing,” Amir Khan
