Alexandre Pantoja Vs. Joshua Van Predictions – ‘I Don’t Think Anybody Beats Him’

The UFC Flyweight Title will be on the line this weekend in the co-main event of UFC 323, as the champion Alexandre Pantoja takes on Joshua Van, as MMA pros picked their winner.
Pantoja enters the fight at the peak of his career. The 35-year-old boasts a remarkable eight-fight win streak dating back to July 2020. Pantoja captured the title in 2023 by defeating Brandon Moreno at UFC 290 and has since made four successful title defenses. His last two outings have been submission victories, including a second-round finish of Kai Asakura and a third-round finish of Kai Kara-France. Meanwhile, Joshua Van has earned this shot via five consecutive wins, beating the likes of Brandon Royval and Bruno Silva. His only UFC loss came against Charles Johnson in July 2024. However, this is his toughest test to date.
Predictions
“I mean, you could just dissect it a bunch of ways. Like if I think Joshua Van wins it, I would say probably a couple of the later rounds and then he could steal it with his cardio, high pace and uh you know, I think Joshua Van mixes up body shots really nicely. And that’s something I never really tried against Pantoja. But I mean, I think probably the more likely of outcomes is Pantoja goes and gets it done,” Brandon Royval
“It’s interesting. It’s all going to depend on if Josh can stay off his back. If Pantoja can put him down, Pantoja all day. But if Josh can stay can stay on his feet, we got a good fight. We got a really good fight. Yeah. You know what I mean? I I like Josh’s chances if he can keep it standing, you know what I mean? But um that’s a tough task. And plus, Pantoja can crack, too,” Jamahal Hill
“I don’t think anybody beats Pantoja anytime soon. So, um, I give that one to Pantoja. Van’s a beast. He’s he’s he’s such a dope fighter, but I give that one to Pantoia,” Etyan Ewing
“I think Joshua Van kind of suffers from the same thing I suffer from where like if you didn’t have to show it, people assume you don’t have it. So I don’t know how good his grappling and wrestling is and if he’ll completely be able to to stay away from it. But if it goes to the ground man, I think Pantoja gives anybody in the world at 125 a huge problem. So I think Pantoja is going to retain his title,” Malcolm Wellmaker
