In the latest MMA news, Alex Pereira is fully behind the idea of Dillon Danis coming to the UFC.

Danis is no longer tied to Bellator after having been released from his contract, as the fighter had been out of MMA for more than three years due to a knee injury.

However, Danis made his boxing debut in October against Logan Paul which failed to deliver the standard that most may have expected.

In a rather dull fight where there was little action, the fight rose to life when Danis was disqualified for attempting two MMA moves.

A takedown and guillotine choke attempt was enough for the referee to call off the bout. In the aftermath, Danis made it clear that he wanted to appeal the disqualification since Logan’s team had entered the ring before the referee called it off.

Meanwhile, Danis also made it clear that he was targeting a return to the UFC given his ability to promote a fight. After all, due to the build up with Paul, Danis’ social media following on X went to over a million.

At the same time, Pereira happened to be there to help Danis prepare for the fight, which is why the former UFC middleweight champion would be glad to see the latter join the UFC.

Pereira On Danis

“I trained with him. We did two nice sessions, one before (my Jan) Blachowicz fight, which was MMA training, and another one for this fight that he had with Logan. First, we did the MMA session. I could see that he is a very talented kid. We had two nice sessions. He’s a great guy, and the fact that he’s in negotiations with the UFC or trying to get in is awesome, and I’m very pumped for him. I root for him,” Pereira said

And by the looks of it, Danis has already lined up an opponent if he were to return. Danis was destined to be a big name in Brazilian jiu-jitsu prior to the injury.

Danis On Pimblett

But if he can recover the form that once made him a feared opponent, then the big fights will be out there. With that being said, Danis was aiming to face Paddy Pimblett.

The Brit is currently undefeated in the UFC and is known for having a big fanbase that has in part been helped by certain comparisons made between him and Conor McGregor.

And by having Danis there as part of the promotion, it would no doubt help do big numbers moving forward. And that is what Danis was hoping to do.

“My UFC debut against Paddy Pimblett would be quite the show, the buildup alone would be electric! And if we want to add some fun, we could be coaches on The Ultimate Fighter and have our fight at the end. Imagine the entertainment that would generate. Let’s give the people what they want and make fighting entertaining again,” Pimblett
