Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka UFC 303 Predictions - 'He Will KO Him'

Alex Pereira will defend his UFC Light Heavyweight Title on June 29 at UFC 303 against Jiri Prochazka, as MMA pros gave their predictions.

Pereira defended his belt for the second time, which he won; he defeated Prochazka in their UFC 295 clash for the vacant title in a second-round stoppage. The win made the Brazilian a two-weight UFC Champion following his feat in the middleweight division. Alex successfully defended the title against Jamahal Hill with a first-round stoppage.

The win was all the more impressive given that Pereira had broken his toe two weeks before the fight. In his last bout, Prochazka secured a second-round TKO win over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300. That was the perfect response after losing to Pereira. Prochazka’s UFC record is 4-1. His wins are over Glover Teixeira, Dominick Reyes, and Volkan Oezdemir.

Pre-Fight

“I understand that this fight is very close and there may be difficulties with the lead up time BUT if there is somebody that can make this happen it is me! POATAN! “This is why I am one of the biggest names in the UFC Alex Pereira!!! I take risks that not one other person would be willing to take but I know I have my ancestors with me. The spirits are with me and I’m ready for it all,” Pereira stated

“I saw that fight many times, but I will not change anything. I want to do the same right now, this Saturday. [And] I want to do the same, but much better. I want to be more precise in the details, watch the calf kicks just a little bit, and win, just win.

“Everybody wants the trilogy, but for me, it doesn’t matter. For me, right now, I’m not thinking about the trilogy, about who will be the next opponent or whatever. Right now, I’m here to win this fight. I’m here to show my best. I’m here to master all the aspects in the fight, that’s all,” Prochazka said

Predictions

“I think Pereira will get it done again, chop down Jiri’s legs then catch him with punches. But, that is all depending on how both of them come into it on short notice, I feel like Jiri is the more disciplined year-round fighter and is always in camp which will help him out,” Jeremy Kennedy (Bellator featherweight)

“Alex Pereira will catch and hurt Jiri Prochazka, similar to what he did in the first fight. His power and leg kicks are too much,” Chad Anheliger (UFC bantamweight)

“I think Pereira will KO him again. Jiri will have a hard time with the leg kicks like he did in the first fight. The short notice makes it interesting though as you aren’t sure how much training they both were doing,” Mario Bautista (UFC bantamweight)

“Jiri Prochazka by KO. And New,” Matt Frevola (UFC lightweight)

“I have to go with Pereira. He won the first fight, looked good and I think he knocks Prochazka out again,” Julian Erosa (UFC Featherweight)

“I’ve never been a huge fan of Jiri, I think that wild style you eventually start to figure it out. It is weird at first and takes time to figure it out. But, we saw Alex Pereira beat him and figure it out in the first one. I think he uses his leg kicks to slow Prochazka down again and get another KO,” Andre Petroski UFC Middleweight”
