Alex Pereira Drops YouTuber With A Body Shot While Dressed As A Bunny
UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira dressed up as a bunny and took part in a body shot challenge with a Brazilian YouTuber.
Pereira is currently in the form of his life, having knocked out Khalil Rountree Jr. in his last fight at UFC 307. That was the third successful defense of his title this year. It marked a successful period at light heavyweight since moving up from middleweight. He moved up after being knocked out by Israel Adesanya at UFC 287. But since then, he has never looked back. Following his latest win, Pereira indicated that he would take some time off before deciding his next move.
Pereira’s Power
And now it appears that he is living up to those words as he appears relaxed. The following video clip shows him conversing with a Brazilian YouTuber. The YouTuber is wearing a protective suit on his chest as Pereira lines up some body shots. But as he does so, Pereira is dressed up as a big white bunny to indicate that he is harmless. However, when it came to punching, that was not the case.
Pereira landed a series of blows, forcing the YouTuber in pain, who fell on the table after feeling winded. That should not be a surprise since Pereira holds the record for having the most powerful shot. According to the PowerKube machine, Pereira’s punch was 191,796 units. This broke the prior record held by Francis Ngannou, who registered 129,161 units.
Pereira Vs. Ankalaev
Outside of the octagon, however, Pereira has been facing some criticism. Magomed Ankalaev, who is considered one of the leading contenders in the light heavyweight division, has accused Pereira of ducking him. This was in response to Pereira’s reaction towards facing other fighters apart from himself. Pereira revealed that he had broken his toe weeks prior to facing Jamahal Hill at UFC 300. However, the Brazilian did not withdraw from the fight and knocked out Hill in the first round.
Alex then took a fight on short notice at UFC 303 against Jiri Prochazka. This was because the main event headlined by Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler was pulled. This was after The Notorious had broken his leg. Pereira stepped in to knock out Jiri in the first round. After the win over Khalil Rountree Jr., Pereira said he had injured his hand. However, Ankalaev was not convinced, arguing that this was only used as an excuse to not fight him.
“That fourth round, I was throwing jabs and hurting my hand. I swear. I was thinking, ‘My hand must be broken.’ It still hurts. Not all the time, no, but if I squeeze here, it hurts. I saw that the jabs were working and thought, ‘I have to hurt him. But then I hit him right there in the [forehead], one of the hardest parts [of the body], and it kept hurting [laughs],” Pereira said
