Alberto Blas Ready to Defend Belt Against Dangerous Undefeated Contender

Alberto Blas hasn’t looked like fighting in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has been much of an issue for him. Blas will headline BKFC 66 this weekend in Hollywood, Florida, hoping to extend his impressive streak of first-round knockouts. When it comes to bare-knuckle fighting, online boxing news shows that Blas has few rivals.
Blas won the title with a 70-second knockout in June to win the BKFC bantamweight championship over another fighter who was previously undefeated. He will be tasked with trying to do that again when he fights undefeated Ryan Reber. The big question for Blas will be what happens when an opponent doesn’t go down early.
During Blas’ five BKFC fights, none of them have lasted longer than 72 seconds. That isn’t typical for combat sports. Typically, when fighters reach the top, earning stoppages becomes a lot more difficult. Reber isn’t someone who is short on high-level experience.
Reber has been training as a martial artist for 20 years and has a sparkling 6-0 record. Expect this fight to feature two motivated strikers eager to capture gold. Reber will need to be careful early in the fight. If the fight goes past the 70-second mark, it will be interesting to see how Blas handles the challenge.
Bets to consider: Under 1.5 rounds, Blas by KO/TKO/DQ
Davis Looks to Show Off Versatility

Howard Davis is a fighter that the BKFC can count on to be competitive in two weight divisions. Davis is ranked No. 3 at featherweight and No. 5 at lightweight. This weekend, Davis, who is 6-2-1 in bare-knuckle boxing, will attempt to grab his second straight win over James Brown.
Brown is a ranked featherweight, but this fight was booked as a lightweight bout. Davis has shown no fear during his stint with the BKFC when it comes to trading haymakers. Anyone looking at boxing updates tonight shows that Davis is comfortable getting in the pocket to create action.
Brown isn’t nearly as battle-tested in the square circle. However, Brown has plenty of experience in the cage. He found some success on the regional scene of MMA.
Brown is 10-5 in professional MMA and fought Da’Mon Blackshear, who went on to fight in the UFC.
Bets to consider: Davis ML
Heavyweight Fight Should Produce a Memorable Moment
There is always a little bit more excitement from the crowd when the heavyweights make their walk to the squared circle. Leonardo Perdomo has made major waves since he found his way to BKFC. He will have his fifth fight in the promotion this weekend when he takes on Steve Banks.
Perdomo’s first four fights all ended in the first round. He will be looking to do the same thing against Banks, who has also won all of his fights in the promotion by knockout. Banks built up his career with a base in Muay Thai.
While not all of Banks’ Muay Thai skills would translate to his BKFC fights due to different rule sets, Banks’ only loss in the promotion was a knockout defeat to BKFC heavyweight champion Mick Terrill.
Bets to consider: Under 1.5 rounds, Banks by KO/TKO/DQ
Ibarrola is Ready to Get Back to Work

Justin Ibarrola has quickly built up his reputation in the BKFC. In less than two years, Ibarrola has stacked up four victories and climbed to No. 3 in the bantamweight rankings. Unlike many fighters in the BKFC, who started with an MMA base, Ibarrola came to this sport from the world of traditional boxing.
He has found a home in BKFC. Ibarrola is angling to be one of the faces of the sport. Ibarrola is going to fight Justin Street, who MMAfighting latest news shows struggled to build traction in MMA. Street was only 4-7 on the regional MMA scene.
Part of Street’s problem was his overly aggressive style. Street likes to get in close and trade big punches. It’s hard to fight that way for long if your defense isn’t sound.
Bets to consider: Ibarrola by KO/TKO/DQ, Under 2.5 rounds
Wells Would Like to Show Improved Effort
Rayne Wells hopped into fighting in the BKFC despite his first opponent having a big edge in experience. Wells would end up learning an important lesson from his loss. He needed to be more accurate if he wanted to pick up victories in the BKFC.
Wells’ opponent this weekend is unknown. That would be good or bad for Wells. Almat Jumanov is a fighter from Kazakhstan who doesn’t have much of a digital footprint. Wells didn’t have much experience when he landed in the BKFC either.
This should be a learning experience for both men. In this fight it’s better to avoid picking a side.
Bets to consider: Fight to go the distance
Labon Has Plenty of Experience
Dameko Labon came to the BKFC with plenty of experience taking on tough opponents. Labon isn’t just limited to more mainstream types of training. He has a black belt in Taekwondo.
Labon also has a background in traditional boxing. When Labon is in the ring, he likes to try and entertain the fans. That includes pushing for a knockout and trying to fight at a high volume.
Armando Rodriguez is another fighter who doesn’t have much of a profile before making his BKFC debut. Nearly everyone who watches him fight this weekend will be introduced to nearly everything about him. Back the 2-0 Labon to continue building momentum.
Bets to consider: Under 2.5 rounds, Labon by KO/TKO/DQ
Here are the other fights on the card not mentioned above:
- Cruiserweight, Julio Perez vs. Devonte Jeffery
- Cruiserweight, Jeremy Smith vs Stephen Townsel
- Welterweight, Joshua Alvarez vs. Jim Pulgar
- Welterweight, Peter Peraza vs. Raymond Pell
- Middleweight, Sean Hotusing vs. Leonel Carrera
