Will Conor McGregor Ever Return?
Conor McGregor remains without a confirmed date for his return to the UFC, as fans await to see what is next.
Following the reveal of the UFC Freedom 250 (White House) card on June 14, 2026, McGregor expressed profound frustration after being left off the historic six-bout lineup. For nearly two years, a clash between McGregor and Michael Chandler was the most anticipated bout in the sport. However, the UFC has officially moved on, leaving McGregor frustrated after he claimed to have accepted multiple dates for the matchup.
Chandler is now scheduled to face prospect Mauricio Ruffy on the White House card on June 14. McGregor has been vocal about the booking, dismissing Ruffy as a “budget version” of himself. While McGregor maintains he is ready to fight, UFC CEO Dana White countered at the UFC 326 press conference, stating that a deal is “not even close.” McGregor has wasted no time identifying a new target, the new BMF Champion Max Holloway.

“I was up for the White House. I know the administration was strong for me to be in the White House. It was McGregor versus Chandler. The story was built in. Chandler is a standup guy. He’s electric in the cage. He comes to bring it. I’m the Mac. I’ll fly through the air [with] an opponent like Chandler. It would have been dynamite as far as a fight.
“I’m going to do 170, as you know. Still here in this limbo… I hope a respectable offer comes through. I’m notoriously good to deal with. I’m an honest man. I admire fairness, and I’m sure we can get it done. There you go. I assume the vibes I’m getting, and I don’t mind it at all, is the BMF…
“Maybe it’s me and [Charles Oliveira] for the next one… I’m motivated to compete, to return. To show my work, show my level, show where I am at today to the world. So, BMF is great. It puts a belt on the waist for sure. I’m for sure a bad man with a good heart. So, why not acquire the BMF title?,” McGregor said
